State Workers Hold to Wage Claims
LONDON, Oct. 19. The main British trade union for Government employees tonight refused to withdraw or scale down its wage claims in response to the Government’s appeal for more work for the same pav. Mr. L. C. White, Secretary of the Civil Service Clerical Association, said the association would stick to its claim for wage increases totalling £10.000.000. "The Government is actively encouraging the dangerous idea that full-time officials of trade unions should become masters and not the servants of their members.” he said. *
