REALIGNMENT OF POUND, KRONER SUGGESTED

(11 a.m.) WASHINGTON. Sept. 6 The diplomatic correspondent of the United Press says it is reported in Washington that experts of the International Monetary Fund, which will meet on September 13. have drawn up a secret document saying the pound and the Swedish kroner are among the currencies which should be realigned. The fund’s annual report would not specify the currencies which should be realigned to ‘‘more realistic levels,” though the report is understood to point out that the balance of payments and convertibility of currencies will remain impossible until the realignment of currencies and also that prices should be allowed to find their own levels and not be artificially maintained.

British officials -in Washington say there is no basis to the reports that British, United States and Canadian Ministers may meet again after the fund meeting. It- is still the view of the British Treasury that the financial talks should finish before September 13, and that there will be no devaluation of sterling.
