POSSIBLE ECONOMIES IN OVERSEAS COSTS
(P.R.) WELLINGTON. Sept. 7. "We could bring Mr. Boswell and lus legation back from Moscow and send back Mr. Barnes and Mr. Hill m their place and not give them a return ticket, said Mr. J. J. Maher (Opp.. Otaki), in the House of Representatives last night during the Budget debate in indicating possible economies in State expenditure. If they could not accept that job, he added they could go to five printing pt paper money. A continual stream of Ministers was going overseas today, notwithstanding the fact that New Zealand had ambassadors in most countries, said Mr. \\. H. Gillespie (Opp.. Huriinui). The ambassadors should bo doing the jobs lor which the Ministers went overseas, if they could not do it they should be withdrawn and the expense reduced.
