STATE DECLINES TO EXTEND PERIOD OF N.Z. PETROL COUPONS
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 6The Government has refused a request by the Wellington Automobile Association to extend the “life” of petrol coupons. The secretary of the association, Mr. W. A. Sutherland, told the association last night that an approach had recently been made to the Government in an attempt to have the present two-month limit for any one petrol coupon extended to three months. “This suggestion was refused,” he said. “The Government cited the difficulties of supply and uncertain demands if coupons were valid for longer than at present.”
