CARRICK TAKES LEAD IN BILLIARDS FINAL

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 3. Maintaining the consistent form he has shown throughout, R. Carrick (Auckland) gained a commanding lead of 2SB points over A. Twohill (West Coast) last night when the first session of 750 points of the New Zealand amateur billiards championship final was played.

With his characteristic, delicate touch Carrick early got the strength of the tab’e and gave a brilliant exhibition ot positional play. His best break was 115. Twohill’s best break was 59.
