CZECH MUSICIAN REFUSES TO RETURN TO PRAGUE

PARIS, Sept. 1. M. Raphael Kubelik, conductor of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, has decided not to return to Czechoslovakia after his present world tour, it was announced today by the Council of Free Czechoslovakia. M. Kubelik left Czechoslovakia in July. Since then he has given concerts in France and Australia. Recently the Czechoslovak Government asked him to return. Me replied that he preferred to make Czechoslovakia known in other countries by her famous composers.

M. Kubelik said at Edinburgh tonight he had not authorised the statement in Paris.
