Wanderers’ Football Club Dance. The Mangahania Hall was crowded last Saturday evening when the visiting Rugby, hockey and basketball teams from Matakaoa were entertained by the Wanderers’ Football Club at an enjoyable dance. Music for the dancing was supplied by Messrs. Paul Mako, N- and D. Awatere, and P. Ferris. An enthusiastic women's committee was responsible for the supper arrangements, which necessitated no fewer than four sittings. Weekly Card Evening. The weekly card party held in the Gaiety Theatre supper-room, was sponsored by the Ruatoria Bowling Club, and., despite the inclement weather there was a good attendance, flag five hundred being played. The winners were Messrs. C. Tucker and G. Ward and Mrs. Garth and Miss Ethel Garth. Supper was served at the conclusion of play. Mrs. G. Richardson acting as hostess.

St. Stephen's College Meeting. On Monday evening, a meeting of those interested in rormtng an old boys’ association of St. Stephen’s College, Bombay, Auckland, was held in the sitting-room of the Manutahi Hotel. The convener was Mr. Patrick Smyth, Auckland, and although, owing to the short notice available, there was not a large attendance, valuable preliminaries towards the inauguration of an East Coast branch of the association were decided upon. Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Smyth, Auckland; were visitors to Ruatoria early this week. —Mr. M. Colebrook is absent from Ruatoria on a business tour oi the North Island centres.—Miss D. Hickey is spending a holiday in the South Lsland.-—Mr. and Mrs. T. Snelling are visiting Rotorua.—Mrs. H. F. Smyth, jun. has been visiting Gisborne this week.

Mrs. P. Yates, Tikitiki, paid a brief visit to Gisborne this week.—Mrs. M. Colebrook is visiting Tolaga Bay.—Mr. Brian Prentice spent the, school vacation with his parents, Mr- and Mrs. T. A. Prentice, Hiruharama. —Mr. H. T. Reedy, Hiruharama, is visiting Wellington.
