Calf With Two Heads
A calf with two heads was born on the farm of Mr. Douglas Bull at waimana last week-end. The heads were joined at the back and had a common neck. Mr. A. M. McDonald, veterinary surgeon for the Opotiki Dairy Association, who attended the cow giving birth to the calf, states that this is the third monstrosity which has come to his notice this season.
Early Season Not only are trees flowering and coming into leaf much earlier than usual, but sea-birds are nesting on the coast two months sooner than the usual nesting time, states the Opotiki News. Pastures have continued to grow well right through the winter and paddocks which have, been shut up on farms for cows coming in ha\e exceptional swqrds, some of them looking as if they had been shut up for bay. His own and fellow-directors sympathy for Mr. M. J- White, in respect of his recent illness, was expressed by Mr. E. H- Baker, presiding at the annual meeting of the Okitu Co-opera-tive Dairy Company, Limited, yesterday. Mention was made of Mr. White s able services as auditor of the company, and Mr. Baker expressed the hope that the* auditor would be vouchsafed an early and complete return to health. The chairman offered a welcome to Mr J. B. Chrisp, who had joined Mr White and had, incidentally, completed the company's audit following Mr. White’s illness.
