SYDNEY, Aug. 15. The New Zealand bred Nizami colt Niska revelled in the heavy going at Canterbury to win the Three-year-old Handicap easily. He was third to the turn and profited when Purple Prince was badly checked. Result:— THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP, 7 fur.—NISKA, 7.12 (Barratt) 1; BEAU CASTE, 8.7 (Williams! 2; SWEET HAVEN, 7.4 (Selkrig) 3. Seventeen started. Two lengths; same. Time, 1.345.
