HITCH IN RESUMPTION IN QUEENSLAND

BRISBANE, Aug. 15. A disagreement between the coal owners and miners on whether the strikers should formally apply for reemployment may cause a hitch in the recommencement of the coal industry in some areas today. The owners issued dismissal notices to the miners at the beginning of the strike and require the miners to sign registers when they offer tor work. The union has instructed the men not to sign registers but to resume work “under the conditions operating before the stoppage.’’
