URGENT CARGO HELD UP

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 13. The waferfront hold-up at Auckland is delaying cargoes for Wellington from overseas which are in many instances urgently needed, stated shipping companies yesterday. An example quoted was the predicament of a tyre factory in the Wellington district which was waiting for a large and already delayed shipment of carbon for manufacturing purposes from the freighter Rudby. The factory was faced with a threat of having to cease production if the arrival of the carbon was delayed much longer. The Rudby has large quantities of lubrication oil for the Railway and Hydro-Electric Departments, also agricultural tractors and large quantities of general petroleum products.
