P.B. SOCCER JUNIORS TO PLAY WELLINGTON

. The second match in the Junior National Soccer Cup series will be played on the Reserve, Gisborne, on Saturday, when Wellington meet Poverty Bay. The excellent exhibition given by the local team when they beat Hawke’s Bay convincingly showed that the standard of the code is high in Gisborne. A schoolboy Possibles-Probables match will be played as a curtain-raiser to the Cup match.

The Wellington junior soccer team which arrives at Gisborne at 10 o'clock tonight to play P.B. tomorrow in the Junior National Cup series is as follows: Jackson, Eade, Thompson, James, Strauss. Tingay, Smith, Harrison, Sindon, Turnbull, McGillvary, Scaife. The coach will be Mr. Darragh and the manager Mr. Kiene. The winners of this match will play Auckland in the North Island final in Wellington on August 27 as a curtainraiser to the Chatham Cup final. The draw is:—
