RIVERS FALL IN H.B.

(P.A.) • HASTINGS, Aug. 10. Very little rain has fallen in the Hastings district in the past 12 hours and at midday the sun was shining brightly. There is still surface water in low-lying aieas, but the rivers have gone down and the danger of a major flood nas passed. It is repotted that there have been some fairly heavy losses in ewes and lambs.
