‘ANTIS’ FEEL GOOD WITH 153,000 SUPPORTERS: FUTURE PROGRAMME

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Aug. 10. The New Zealand Peace and AntiConscription Federation feels that 153,000 voters have shown that there is ample justification for its existence, and in a statement issued today the secretary. Mr. A. Keesing, outlined its future objectives. These were to assist to mitigate any hardships caused by conscription, either on the people concerned or on their families, to safeguard the interests of people whose conscience would not permit them to take up arms; to work for the repeal of the Act, and to seek the co-operation of all people in all lands towards international disarmament and world peace. The federation also intends to publicise efforts to obtain exemption by or for those who advocated and voted for conscription.
