YOUTHS KILL 12 JEWS IN DAMASCUS
DAMASCUS. Aug. 9. The Associated Press correspondent says the President of Syria, Husny Zaim, said today that a 17-year-old Syrian ex-serviceman of the Palestine* war had confessed that he and two friends threw hand-grenades into the Damascus Synagogue last Friday. Twelve Jews were killed and between 19 and 30 were wounded in the attack. The Government had to put sufficient forces into the Jewish quarter to protect fully the city's 18,000 Jews in future, said the President.
