OWNERSHIP OF EARLY N.Z. PAPERS DISPUTED

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 14. Owing to a ’’dispute having arisen regarding the ownership of certain lots,” certain historical material including manuscript, letters, pamphlets, and books once owned by an early Wanganui missionary, the Rev. Richard Taylor, have been withdrawn from a scheduled sale, it is announced by the auctioneers concerned. Some of this material is considered by experts as among the most valuable offered for public sale in New Zealand. The lots included some extremely-rare examples of early printing and holograph letters from famous early New -Zealanders such as Bishop Selwyn and Sir George Grey.
