POLICE PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS : SIX OFFICERS CONCERNED

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 14. Six senior officers of the police force have received promotions and transfers. Sub-Inspector P. Munro, of Auckland, has been promoted to the rank of inspector and transferred to Whangarei as officer in charge of the district. He replaces Inspector J. J. Sparks, who has retired. *

Sub-Inspecfor J. Crowley, who recently has been temporarily in charge of the force at Gisborne, has been promoted to the rank of inspector and appointed as permanent officer in charge at Gisborne,

Senior-Sergeant M. E. Lines, who recently has been prosecuting on behalf of the police in the Wellington Magistrates’ Court, has been promoted to the rank of sub-inspector and transferred to Auckland. A smiliar promotion has been given Senior-Sergeant J. McKie, of Wellington, who is transferred to Christchurch.
