BREAD PRICE UP BY PENNY IN NORTHLAND

(P.A.) WHANGAREI, June 13. A meeting of master bakers from the area between Waipu and the Far North decided on Saturday evening to increase the price of the 21b. loaf of bread from 6d to 7d as from July 1. It was also decided that if the Government or the Price Tribunal takes action to force bakers to adhere to 6d all bakeries in that area will close.
