EISLER NAMED AS SOVIET SECRET POLICE AGENT

LONDON, June 12

The Daily Mail quotes Miss Ruth Fischer, of New York, a sister of the German-born Communist Gerhard Eisler, as saying- in London tonight: “I cannot understand Britain’s treatment of my brother. He is one of the most important and dangerous agents of the Soviet secret police and the Cominform.

“He can now use his experience in political terror against the German and Easteim European classes. His release iwas a tragic political mistake.

Miss Fischer was for many years a leading German Communist and executive member of the Communist Internationale. Now she is one of its most active opponents. She has been attending the British Labour Party conference at Blackpool. Eisler was arrested on the Polish liner Batory off the English coast on an extradition warrant from the United States Government-

After the charges against him were dismissed in a London court, Eisler left Britain for the Soviet zone of Germany where he has been elected a member of the Russian dominated Socialist Unity Party.
