ALLEN, ELVIDGE IN ALL BLACKS TO PLAY BORDER

(From Clauds King:. N.Z.P.A. Rep. with All Blacks.)

(10 a.m.) East London, June 13. F. R. Allen and R. R. Elvidge, who were injured in the opening match of the tour, are back in the All' Black side for the fifth game against Border on Wednesday.

Competition Rugby went into recess in the Border during the war and it is only just regaining the high standard of pre-war years. Earlier this season Border lost 6—3 to Eastern Province and in view of the close result between the All Blacks and the Eastern Province the local side is very hopeful of success on Wednesday. The teams are: All Blacks Full-back: J. W. Goddard. Threequarters: W. A. Meates, R. Elvidge, P. Henderson. ■ Five-eighths: F- R. Allen, G. W. Delamore. Half-back: W. J. M. Conrad. Front row: H. A. Frazer, N. L. Wilson, J. G. Simpson. Middle row: P. J. B. Crowley, C. Willocks. M. J. McHugh, L. A. Grant.Back row: N. H. Thornton. Border Full-back: Snyman. Threequarters: Geraghty, Geldenhuys, Johnstone, Saunders. Halves: Van Rensburg, Woodward. Front row: Smith, MacKenzie, Pretorius. , „ Middle row: King, Brock, Gordon, Raath. Back row: Kenyon. Nine of the Border team took part in the South African trials at Pretoria— Snyman, van Rensburg, Woodward, Smith, MacKenzie, Pretorius, Gordon, Raath and Kenyon. Kenyon was included in 32 Springbok possibles announced after the trials and is regarded as the likely Springbok test captain. Because of the continued humid weather the All Blacks intend practising late in the afternoons instead of the mornings.
