LITTLE THEATRE PLAY PRESENTED TO PACKED HOUSE
Playing to a packed house, “Pride and Prejudice,” produced by the Gisborne High School Old Students’ Little Theatre, scored another success last night. The 14 actors in this rather light, but at times difficult play, kept the action moving and, although practically all of them had long parts, they proved almost word-perfect. The frocking of the women members of the cast came in for special commendation from the audience, "while the whole of the stage setting appeared to tone with the dressing of the actors. Those taking part in the play were Edna Heighway. Patricia White, Justine Lundon, Joan Olsen, Norma Hiller, Immelda Sutton, Audrey Harvey, Merle Bell, Myra Muis, Josephine Harre, David Thomas, Richard Willock, Jack Hodgson, and Gordon Forrester. In a short speech at the conclusion of the play Mr. D. A. Wells, president of the Little Theatre, thanked the audience for their responsiveness and the cast for their hard work. His remarks were echoed by the producer, Mr. John Kitchen.
