U.S. WARSHIPS QUIT WHANGPOO RIVER
SHANGHAI, May 19. Vice-Admiral Oscar Badger, commander of the United States /naval forces in the West Pacific, moved all naval units of his command out of tne mouth of the Whangpoo River today after getting word from the United States consulate that no more Americans had applied for naval evacuation from Shanghai. , . British warships are still anchored off Woosung ready to evacuate the British population left in Shanghai if this proves necessary.
