UNLIGHTED CYCLES AT NIGHT ON ROADS

Some motorists in Gisborne, apparently more conscious of the fact since the talk of the road safety campaign started, have been taking more notice of the number of unlighted bicycles on the roads during the hours of darkness. On the trip from Makaraka to the town clock at 5.45 p.m. one day late this week one man counted 22 cyclists who had no lights on their machines. It was dark at the time. Similar complaints have been madfe fairly frequently recently, but none has been so specific.
