Cleve Edmund Allen, former secret-ary-organiser of the Palmerston North branch of the National Party, appeared before Mr. Justice Hutchinson in the Supreme Court today for sentence for having stolen £792 Os 5d of the party’s funds and the forging of the name of the party’s auditor to a spurious balance On the former count he was sentenced to reformative detention for two years and on the latter to reformative detention for 12 months, the terms to be concurrent.
