No U.S. Request Yet For Euler’s Extradition

LONDON, May 19.

The Home Secretary, Mr. Chuter Ede, told the House of Commons today that he had not yet had any request from the United States authorities for the extradition of Gerhard Eisler, who was arrested aboard the Polish liner Batory in British waters last Saturday.

Mr. Chuter Ede added: “As soon as I get the requisition, I can decide whether this is a case of a political character or not. If it is of a political character, it will be my duty to see that further proceedings do not take place.”

Mr. Chuter Ede said he to-'’- -~->rsonal responsibility for Eisler’s arrest.
