BIG WONDER (3). 9.1, might start if Strong Thread is not available; has no form.

INHERIT (8), 9.0, a splendid little jumper, is not a strong recommendation.

MEDIOCRE (4), 9.0, is one that will complete the course, which is something to be said in his favour. He might want a race, though. PAKURA (2), 9.0, is another good fencer, but lack of condition may tell before the journey is completed. REItE TERE (5), 9.0, has no form. TWYFORD (C), 9.0, is of the tough type and is expected to put up a very fair showing.

MAIDEN STAKES NO. 2 Top Step (4), 8.10, is having its first start. Swing Song (11), 8.10, has no place form. Supersonic (12), 8.10, in four starts has had four lickings. Contravene (9), 8.10, first start. Adonis (13), 8.10, is engaged earlier in the day. Jovado (3), 8.10, gallops fairly well in private and is having his first start. Parizade (14), 8.10, first start. Abdul (2), 8.10, first start. Lady Lotus (C), 8.10, galloped well enough in her final trial to say that her turn is not far off. Sinatra (5), 8.10, has failed in three starts this season. Lambeth (8), 8.0, raced unsuccessfully at Hastings, but looked badly in need of that racing. Beau Coeur (10), 8.0, raced unsuccessfully earlier in the season. He has been attracting a little attention of late at Hastings. Trench Patrol (7), 8.0, has no form. ★TE HAPARA HANDICAP MERRY BING (8), 9.11, is right at the peak of his form, but will have a job here with the best part of lOst. DARK FLASH (11), 8.1, is not liked on recent efforts. TILTING (10), 8.0, if back to spring form would be very hard. Last month he was second and third at Whangarei, whicli say he has not lost form. VANE MASTER (1), 8.0, at the last Gisborne meeting was a maiden and now he has 141 b. above the minimum in an open handicap. He can gallop and will not be passed over hurriedly. MARCIA (13), 7.2, scored two easy wins at Hastings last month. On that she is going to be hard to keep out of the money. ;; BLUE SPEC (14), 7.0, is not exactly 100 per cent genuine. BROWN ATOM (4), 7.0, has no recent form. CLIVE BAY (5), 7.0, on spring form would be a possibility. ERNBRAE (3), 7.0, is not a strong hope, unless the going is really heavy. lIULABALOO (2), 7.0, is an outsidelightweight possibility. MR. VALIANT (12), 7.0, might not start—is backward. QUINATION (9), 7.0, is also in the hurdles. SILVER WEDDING (7), 7.0, on recent track work, is not fancied. VAKURA (6), 7.0, is a bleeder and cannot be recommended with confidence. KAITI HACK HANDICAP Aratucky (3), 9.0, if reserved for this ev.ent might be in the money.

Grande Dame (4), 8.8, has been commented upon before. High Profit (12), 8.8, is starting earlier in the day, according to report. On Probation (11), 8.8. is not denied a place show; is in the right fettle. Kuku-Nui (5) and Running Rein (2), 8.6, have previous engagements tomorow afternoon, hut may he saddled up again. Little Tich (8), 8.4, went well enough in his final gallop to bring him among the likely favourite division. Ilincpai (6), 8.3, has a very rough place show. Leghorn (7), 8.3, a few seasons hack won the Champion Hack at Makaraka but has not raced for some considerable time.

Sweet Seventeen (10), 8.3, may be about the same in the betting.

Tyrone Lass (1) and Young Parke (9), 8.3, have engagements earlier in the day.
