CAR DRIVER KILLED IN SMASH ON ROAD

(P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, May 17. A fatal accident occurred yesterday afternoon when a motor car and a motor truck collided in a cutting on Okahu road, between Okato and Opunake, the driver of the car being killed. He was:

Mr. Benjamin Charles O’Brien,, of Warea, farmer, aged about 50 years. The truck was driven by Mr. A. F. Pickrang, of New Plymouth. Mr. O’Brien was accompanied by his two sons, one of whom, aged 12, was admitted to the hospital with lacerations of the face. His condition is reported to be satisfactory.
