PALERMO, May 13. Sicilian police, continuing their “war of extermination” against the bandit “king,” Salvatore Giuliano, fought off a flanking movement by men led by another fierce bandit leader, Mauro, who was coming to the aid of his trapped comrade. Three policemen were killed in the action. Several thousand police and militia are now closing on Salvatore’s mountain stronghold.
