TOLAGA GIRL DIES DURING OPERATION

While undergoing an emergency operation for appendicitis at the Cook Hospital last night, a Maori girl from Tolaga Bay collapsed and died. She was:

Tangl Smith, aged 15 years. The girl was admitted from Tolaga Bay late in the evening and died shortly after 2 a.m. A post-mortem examination has been ordered by the coroner, Mr. E. L. Walton, R M., and an inquest is to be opened today.
