WEST APPROVES OF GERMAN STATE BASIC LAW

LONDON, May 12,

A delegation of German politicians, headed bv the President of the Bonn Constituent Assembly, Dr. Adenauer, officially presented the basic law of the new German Federal Republic to the three Western Military Governors at Frankfurt tonight. The governors formally approved the basic law and issued a statement confirming their approval. Previously the governors had an informal meeting with the 11 West German Minister Presidents.

The governors made reservations in their formal approval to basic law, Including the suspension of a clause declaring Berlin a ‘member State of the Federal Republic, power the Federal Government should have over the administration and the police and the proposed reorganisation of the State boundaries.
