WAIROA TRAGEDY: NEW POLICE ANGLE ON INVESTIGATION
(S.R.) ' WAIROA, May 10. The latest move in the Brunton murder inquiry is the expected arrival at ’Wairoa today of Dr. W. Gilmour, a noted pathologist whose scientific investigations have proved of considerable value to the police in other inquiries. It is believed that Dr. Gilmour will peruse all the information secured by Dr. Sommerville, who was summoned from Hastings to Wairoa to carry out the initial pathological work and postmortem examination of the victim, which work he carried out on December 16 and 17. It is believed that Auckland detective officers who recently came into the investigation of the case yesterday interviewed two persons who were in the vicinity of the scene of the tragedy on the night of December 15. Those interviewed were among those who, on the day of the discovery of the crime, were the first to come forward to give all information possible, in the hope of assisting the police to find the perpetrator.
