CLOSE CONTESTS IN GISBORNE GAMES
INDOOR BASKETBALL
Games played in the Army Hall on Saturday under the auspices of the Gisborne Indoor Basketball Association were very closely contested in both the men and women’s sections. In the men’s games the outstanding players were F. Bayliss, R. Smaill, AMackie, J. Bisman, and the two best women were Misses N. Mcßae and R. Wilkinson.
Results were.—Zig-Zags 2 v. Power Board 0; Wolverines 24 v. P.W.D. 5; Rovers 14 v. Tuis 12; Sioux 38 v. McGregor's 0; Tigers 17 v. • Panther's 6; Ban-Barns 29 v. M.I.A. 27.

Tuesday.—Women’s B Grade: M.I.A. v- Red Star, No. 1 court, 6.45 p.m.; G.B.A. v. Shamrocks, No. 1, 7.20; Herald v. Tattersall and Bayly, No. 1, 7.55; Kiwis v. Nurses, No. 1, 9.5. Women's C Grade: Scotties v. Glendowie, No. 2, 6-45 p.m.; Petties v. Gisgar, No. 1,8.30 r Squibs v. Hibernians, No. 2, 9.5; Men’s B Grade: Farmers v. Smashers, No. 2, 7.20 p.m.: Old Boys v. Kingfishers, No. 2, 7.55; Matelots v. Greyhounds, No. 2, 8.30.
