SUDDEN DEATH OF RACING JUDGE AFTER WOODVILLE MEETING

(P.A.) PALMERSTON N„ May 9. News of the sudden death of Mr. M. B. Bergin. a racing judge, which occurred on his way home from Woodville on Saturday evening, came as a shock to a wide circle of friends and associates.

Mr. Bergin had carried out his official duties at Woodville and apparently was quite well on the journey home. With Mrs. Bergin driving, they, had come through the Manawatu Gorge when Mr. Bergin suffered a sudden heart attack. Although all haste was made ta the hospital, he passed away before help could be obtained. He was 52 years of age.
