RARE BIRDS & ANIMALS FOUND IN NEPAL

(From a Reuters Correspondent) CALCUTTA. The six-man United States zoological expedition to the Himalayan Hill Kingdom of Nepal, led by Dr. D. Ripley, returned to Calcutta on February 28 after three and a half months in Nepal. In the fertile valleys and richly wooded forests, the expedition collected 950 specimens of rare birds and 100 small mammals.

Dr. Ripley said the specimens would be of tremendous interest to scientific studies. The party will now divide into two, one led by Dr. Ripley going to Assam, eastern tea growing province of India, and the other to the Ganges Valley.
