AUSTRALIAN RUGBY LEAGUE SIDE MAY TOUR IN SEPTEMBER
(11 a.m.) BRISBANE, May 7. The Australian Rugby League Board of Control has cabled to the New Zealand League that it is prepared to send a team this year provided the tour does not begin before mid-September. New Zealand had asked for a tour in August. The board atso decided to invite England to send a team to Australia next year and France to send a team in 1951.
Members of the 1948-49 Kangaroos team, which toured England and France, will receive a record bonus of £420 each The profit from the tour, £26,490, was also a record.
