Princess’ Tour Of Italy Welcomed By Press

(11 a.m.) ROME. April 26. All Italy, including the Left wing press today, approved the visit of Princess Margaret who is due in Naples tomorrow. The pro-Communist La Republica, giving the Princess four columns and a picture, said that her visit will be “beneficial to Italian tourist trade. It added, however, that the British and Americans in Italy are likely to see more of her than the Italians because “pounds sterling and dollars open every door.” Many Italian newspapers carried pictures of the Princess With details of her life and, with the usual candour of the Italian press, speculated on her possible suitors and wondered whether any young men will accompany her.
