COURT PREPARES TO ADJUST AWARDS

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 27. Preliminary steps were taken today by the Arbitration Court, following the Easter recess, on work involved in amending approximately 580 awards and agreements affected by the court’s pronouncement on April 12 increasing the standard wage rates for workers under industrial awards. As considerable detail is involved in the award amendments, no estimate was available today as to how long the task is likely to take.
