TURANGANUI GOLFERS PLAY IN EASTER. CUP TOURNAMENT
A cup donated by Mr. T. Te Kanawa, was contested at the tournament held at the Tuoi links during the Easter week-end, the winner being G. Farmer, who defeated D. B. Tennent in the final. Others who took part were L. Hughes, J. Kaua, E. Goodwin, R. Clarke, R. Halbert, R. R. Robb, HCroskery, G. Butler, C Read, and A. Nicholson. Farmer and Tennent also annexed the Stableford and bogey matches respectively. The medal handicap was won by R- W. Halbert. The best gross scores of the tournament were those of G. Butler, 74, and G. Farmer, 75. These players respectively topped the list in the previous week-end competitions, On that occasion, Butler returned a medal card, 78-8-70, and Farmer was all square with bogey and handed in a card, 76-9-67.
The official opening of the links is scheduled for Saturday afternoon. The ladies are to supply refreshments.
