SIR R. HEATON RHODES HONOURED

Sir R. Heaton Rhodes has had conferred on him the highest honour in philately. The Philatelic Congress 'of Great Britain has added his name to the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes is the third New Zealander to receive this honour. The two enrolled before him were the late Mr. A. T. Bate. Wellington, and Mr. R. J. G. Collins, Christchurch. Since his schooldays Sir Heaton Rhodes has been interested in stamp collecting, and after he was appointed Postmaster-General he began to take a deep interest in the hobby, and today is the possessor of the finest collecI tion in existence of the early stamps of New Zealand. He is a recognised student of New Zealand issues, and his opinion is frequently sought in the -solution of problems in this field.
