GLORIA SWANSON TO ATTEMPT COMEBACK

NEW YORK. The American cinema world recently had two surprises. Gloria Swanson, who is 51, has returned to Hollywood. She will try to make a comeback. Miss Swanson—one of the best known of the early stars—retired in 1936. George Raft, who made his name in gangster and other “tough” roles, has confessed to a weakness—clothing. Raft was interviewed while ordering tailored white silk underpants. He said: "I love anything about men’s accessories " Raft has 50 suits stored in glass cases at his home. His shirts and his hankerchiefs carry monograms. He complains that he can never get the monograms small enough.
