TECHNICAL ISSUES AT RUGBY MEETING

Unfamiliarity with procedure and the presentation of a number of technicalities lengthened proceedings at the annual meeting of the P.B. Rugby Football Union in the Bon Accord rooms last night. The two nominatoins received for the office of president were made, according to members, incorrectly. One nomination was put forward by a non-delegate and, after a discussion, the nomination was renewed by an accredited delegate. The other was made by a representative of a sub-union who claimed that it was not in order as the sub-union had not yet had its annual meeting. His term of office was 12 months and he had been its representative for 11 months. Cries of “splitting the straw” greeted him when withdrawing the nomination, which was subsequently made again by an official delegate.
