Mr. Beuth Mew President Of P.B. Rugby Union

Kern interest in Rugby administration in Gisborne (his season was shown at the annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Rugby Union in the Ron Accord rooms last night. A ballot, was necessary to fill the office of president, which went to Mr. M. 11. Beuth, chairman of last year’s management committee. He defeated the present president, Mr. G. .1. Jeune.

Indicative of more than usual interest was the attendance at the meeting of over GO representatives, about half of whom were accredited delegates of sub-unions and clubs.

Though only acknowledged 'delegates could participate in the voting, Mr. Jeune assured other representatives that they served a very useful purpose by being present and putting forward their ideas.

Mr.’ Beuth said that he accepted his new office as an appreciation of the work of Die management committee. He nopecl that lie would fulfil his duties in the same honour and for the good of Rugby football as those who had done so in the past.

Congratulating Mr. Beuth, Mr. Jeune said that Mr. Beuth had done a fine job as chairman of the management committee, and had performed particularly good work last year. He wished him a successful period of office Officers were elected as follows: Patron. Mr. H. B. Williams: president, Mr. M. 11. Beuth: vice-presidents, Messrs. E. T. Brosnahan, R. R. Allen and G. Brown: medical officers, Drs. F. Kohlenberg. S. B. Bowker and V. Gibson: treasurer, Mr. T. McGulfie; auditor, Mr. C. O. Hansen.
