National Savings.

"The New Zealand National Savings Committee is very gratified with the results for the year ended March 31," stated the chairman, Mr. T. N. Smallwood. For the second successive year, each of hte 352 quota towns have exceeded their targets, nearly £7,500,000 of new national savings, which include £440,000 saving bonds sales, have been received from investors and 22,500 new national savings accounts were opened. Mr. Smallwood said that no less than £30,000,000 was held at credit of national savings investments accounts at March 31, 1943. “Our thanks,” he stated, “are also due to the press for the generous publicity and support, which has been so .very helpful.' ,-,'
