MR. MENZIES CITES AID IN INDUSTRY OF INCENTIVE PAYMENTS
SYDNEY, April 5.
The leader of the Federal Opposition, Mr. R. G. Menzies, told a street meeting of 1000 people in Goulburn that there had been no industrial trouble at a local factory which had adopted incentive payments. It was one of the biggest political meetings held in Goulburn for years and he spoke for an hour without interjections.
“Far too many people think that if they produce too much they will produce themselves out of a job,” he said. "No socialist of any ability thinks that, but too many people do. If we were producing to capacity vve would be one of the greatest steelmakers in thwworld and would command great markets.”
