Slight Tax Relief Forecast In Budget
(11 a.m.) LONDON, April 5. The Chancellor of the Exchequer. Sir Stafford Cripps, is understood to have disclosed to the Cabinet today the main proposals he will make in his Budget tomorrow.
These, say Reuter, may include reductions in purchase tax, adjustments in income tax allowances, a penny or twopence off beer and possibly a cut in tobacco duty.
