New Commander Of U.S. Pacific Fleet
WASHINGTON, April 3.
President Truman yesterday nominated Vice-Admiral Arthur W. Radford as commander-in-chief of the United States Pacific Fleet and High Commissioner of the Pacific Islands under American administration.
If the appointment is confirmed by the Senate Admiral Radford will succeed Admiral De Witt Clinto Ramsey, who will retire on May 1. Admiral Radford is now Vice-President of Naval Operations.
