COLLAPSE OF P.B. ALLOWED WIN BY 93 RUNS TO HUTT

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 5. The unexpected collapse of the Poverty Bay cricket representatives in their second innings for the meagre score of 128 results in Hutt Valley retaining the Hawke Cup by the comfortable margin of 93 runs after being 14 runs behind on the first innings. When Hutt Valley yesterday declared the second Innings closed with eight wickets down for 235 runs the visitors were left with 305 minutes in which to get 222 runs for an outright win, or to play out time and win on the first innings. However, C. A. Muir, Hutt Valley’s outstanding bowler in the first innings was again in devastating form, taking five wickets for 22 runs oil 24.5 overs.
