Discussing briefly the notification of resignations from 12 sisters from the nursing staff, the Wellington Hospital Board was told by the chairman of the souse committee. Mrs. E. M. Gilmer, that notwithstanding the persistence of staffing difficulties, “something always happened just in time.” Mrs. Gilmer said that some of the staff departing were getting married, others were going to other parts—“become a nurse and see the world," seemed to be working out in practice, she added. However, the board had been fortunate in the arrival at critical periods of two or three or perhaps half a dozen nurses to keep things going without having to close down a ward.
