NATIONAL PARTY NOMINEE FOR PALMERSTON NORTH

(P.A.) PALMERSTON N., Mar. 29. Mr. Blair Tennent was last evening chosen as National Party candidate to contest the Palmerston North seat at the general election. Six citizens offered themselves for selection and a vigorous campaign reminiscent of the general elections, was carried on in the city for some weeks. Mr. Tennent, who is a dentist, has taken a pominent part in public affairs for many years. He is the chairman of Wanganui Education Board, is a past district governor of Rotary and a prominent member of the Heritage executive. The Palmerston North seat is at presend held by Mr. G. H. O. Wilson, Labour.
