COAL CARGO FROM TRANSVAAL ON WAY

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Mar. 10. Over 8000 tons of coal for the Railways Department from South Africa will arrive in Auckland on Saturday in the motor ship African Prince. The coal is from the Transvaal and was shipped through Lourenco Marques, Portuguese Africa. Mr. F. W. Aikin, the general manager of railways, said in a telephone interview that the coal was of reasonably good quality. "We have been held up in coal supplies from Africa because of the shortage of railway trucks from the coalfields to the port of shipment," he continued.

It was announced last year that New Zealand was seeking coal from South Africa.
